Hi, I’m CAMILO MARTINEZ a Colombian-American contemporary pop surreal artist and musician based in Miami.
My work blends influences from music, pop culture, surrealism, and personal experience through symbolic paintings, murals, and immersive visual experiences shaped by bold color, expressive characters, and layered narratives. Recurring figures such as Joe Hueso, Big Eyes, and Troopertinas navigate themes of transformation, vulnerability, healing, human connection, and the masks we carry through life.
My studio creates original artwork, large-scale murals, commissions, and live art experiences for collectors, brands, hospitality spaces, schools, festivals, and community environments.

Joe Hueso is a symbolic recurring character created by Camilo Martinez — an autobiographical figure born from a period of burnout, emotional exhaustion, and personal transformation.
Recognizable by his skeletal face, expressive eyes, and surreal presence, Joe Hueso represents the inner journey through identity, vulnerability, healing, resilience, and rediscovery. Through paintings, music, murals, and storytelling, the character navigates themes of emotional conflict, self-awareness, childhood memory, human connection, and the masks people carry through life.
Originally conceived during Camilo’s return to art after burnout, Joe Hueso became both a creative alter ego and a visual language for expressing experiences that are often difficult to articulate through words alone. The character now exists across multiple collections, songs, immersive experiences, and narrative-driven works that blend contemporary pop surrealism with emotional storytelling and symbolic imagery.
