ABOUT
Camilo Martinez (b. 1978, Barranquilla, Colombia) is a Colombian-American artist and musician based in Miami. Drawing from pop surrealism, narrative figuration, Caribbean culture, and music, Martinez creates emotionally charged paintings that merge symbolic storytelling with bold color, expressive characters, and layered compositions.
His work navigate themes of identity, masking, emotional conflict, healing, and transformation. Influenced by rock music, street culture, vintage cartoons, and personal experiences with burnout and reinvention, Martinez builds surreal environments where playful imagery coexists with psychological depth.
Working across painting, murals, installations, music, and immersive workshops, Martinez approaches art as both storytelling and emotional connection. His visual language combines pop iconography, expressive linework, and symbolic narratives that explore resilience, vulnerability, and the search for meaning through creation.
Martinez has exhibited work in galleries, art fairs, and public events across the United States, including Miami Art Week and contemporary art festivals throughout South Florida. His Miami studio operates as both a working studio and showroom, where he develops original collections, commissions, murals, and community-centered creative experiences focused on healing through art and self-expression.
Alongside his visual art practice, Martinez is an active musician and bassist for the Miami-based rock band Pinkfoot Goliath, reinforcing the rhythm, energy, and performative spirit present throughout his work.
