Divas Who Burned Bright
This series celebrates the women whose brilliance reshaped art, music, and culture; Marilyn Monroe, Amy Winehouse, Brigitte Bardot, and Janis Joplin.
Each of them carried beauty and chaos in equal measure, transforming pain into timeless art. Behind the glamour were hearts that beat too loudly for a world that often asked them to stay quiet.
They faced loneliness, pressure, and inner battles that fame couldn’t cure. Yet through their voices, performances, and images, they shattered expectations and changed the industries that tried to contain them.
Their light burned fast but left a glow that still warms and inspires us , a reminder that creativity can be both a wound and a way to heal.

EXPLORING NUANCES OF BLACK & WHITE
Space Invader immerses the viewer in a nostalgic dreamscape where technology, identity, and childhood imagination collide. At the center of the piece, a lone Funky Trooper—Camilo Martinez’s emblem of masked emotion and surreal resilience—kneels transfixed before an oversized retro computer. On the glowing screen, a stylized version of the classic Space Invaders game unfolds, yet the “invaders” are symbols of modern life: desks, phones, and deer—surreal icons of routine and escape.
The textured grayscale palette evokes the glow of vintage cathode-ray screens, while the woven rug beneath the figure and the prickly cactus beside the machine hint at a domestic past frozen in time. The power cord trails to the side like an umbilical tether to forgotten realities, as if the Funky Trooper is wired into the matrix of their own psyche.
This painting explores the blurred line between digital refuge and analog memory, where the arcade becomes an altar, and the act of playing—an existential confrontation. Space Invader captures the solitude of the modern dreamer navigating identity, nostalgia, and the quiet battle for meaning in an overstimulated world.

A COLLECTIVE ART EXHIBITION HIGHLIGHTING THE HISTORY AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF WOMEN IN OUR COMMUNITY
Celia is a vibrant homage to the Queen of Salsa and the power of music to lift the spirit. Set against a glowing orange backdrop, the scene bursts with rhythm and color, singers, percussionists, and horn players fill the frame, each character contributing to a collective celebration.
At the heart of the composition stands Celia, radiant in a bright dress, leading the band with her voice and presence. Around her, Joe Hueso anchors the scene at the piano, a reminder that music remains a bridge between worlds, between pain and joy, between the past and the future.
The checkerboard floor and layered figures create a sense of movement and depth, echoing the energy of a live performance. Celia is both a tribute and an invitation, to sing louder, dance harder, and choose life no matter the circumstances.
