funkydisonante (Camilo Felipe Martinez Puche) is an American contemporary artist, currently based in Miami. With a passion for music and drawing that dates back to his early years, Camilo's artistic journey has taken him through various milestones.
In his present work, funkydisonante is a fine artist at Funkydisonante Creative Studio. Through his captivating and thought-provoking works of art, he combines music, illustration, and technology to create unique artistic expressions.
Prior to his current endeavors, Camilo embarked on a diverse range of experiences. In 2013, he worked as the UI Lead for Aeropost.com and Pricesmart.com, playing a key role in developing cross-border platforms serving multiple countries in the Caribbean and South America. Notably, he led the development of Pricesmart's wholesale Club member e-commerce platform across 13 countries.
Returning to his hometown of Barranquilla in 2010, Camilo founded BAQ Crossfit, becoming a pioneer of the sport in the city. During this time, he also rediscovered his passion for art, accepting commissioned work and filling his sketchbooks with creative expressions.
Camilo's journey in the Colombian rock scene spanned over two decades. He founded and performed in various bands, including Rocksito (2004-present), Micosonica (1999-2003), and Madresanta (1997-1999). These musical ventures played a crucial role in shaping his artistic style and nurturing his creativity.
In Bogotá, DC, Camilo established the Camilo Martinez (funkydisonante) Studio, specializing in product development for e-commerce sites, custom digital solutions, and artist websites. Prior to that, during his time in Rochester, he delved into web design and photography, further expanding his artistic repertoire.
His passion for music and drawing was ignited during his formative years in Barranquilla, where he sold original illustrations and his first bass guitar to friends at school. Joining his first school band at the age of 13, Camilo began his musical journey, playing cover songs at house parties and exploring the vibrant underground music scene of the city.
